After pickup from your hotel, you will be transfered to the Chimbacalle Station where you will check-in. Here, you will also see items from Ecuador’s past, including industrial age scales, printers, old steam locomotives and several other objects that made Ecuador’s rail operations possible.
Once on the train, you will pass through Quito’s southside streets on to green valleys with impressive landscapes and views of Pichincha, Atacazo, Pasochoa and Corazon mountains.
Descending down Cutuglagua’s forests, the train will arrive in Tambillo and Aloasi, where you will be welcomed by dancers performing the traditional dance of Ecuador, the San Juanito. Continue to El Boliche where you will take a walk in the recreational area. There are several tourist facilities such as camping and picnic areas, with specific areas for campfires. There is also a playground, a restaurant, two self-guided trails and a historic center.
Next, visit Machachi, which is surrounded by mountains and land dedicated to agriculture and livestock. You will also see Pasochoa, Sincholagua and Ruminawi, three dormant volcanoes. Visit an animal farm where you will see cows, horses and llamas among other animals. You will also enjoy a lunch of typical foods from the region, such as ‘fritada’ and ‘yapingacho.’
After your tour, the train will take you back to the Chimbacalle Station, where you will be transferred back to your hotel.
