Museo Castelvecchio, Corso Castelvecchio, Verona, Italien
Offered byUnconventional Travel di Andrea Rigo
While the northern Italian city of Verona is a beautiful city to explore for its ancient heritage and magnificent architecture, there is more to discover outside of the city. Winemaking has taken place in the region since the time of the Ancient Greeks and the region is also known as the "Pearl of Verona".
After departing from Castelcecchio, you will soon escape the city and cycle to the hills of Valpantena to visit Amarone territory. Discover the agricultural traditions and embrace the relaxed pace of the country life. Along the way you will admire the picturesque scenery where you will see an abundance of vineyards.
Visit a winery where you will learn more about the process of winemaking and why the climate of this region is suitable for producing good quality wine. One of the main highlights of the tour is tasting the famous full-bodied Amarone wine.
You will cover a distance of approximately 20 km so it is essential that you are comfortable riding a bike for a long period of time.
