This half day tour will take you to visit the Girona coast - also known as Costa Brava - with its beautiful natural scenery of rocky coastlines, pine forests and small coves. This is a charming region where you can explore the small towns, narrow streets and whitewashed walls. You will get to explore 2 villages in the south which capture the unique essence of the region.
After meeting at Plaça Catalunya in Barcelona, the bus will take the tour group to the main touristic village of Lloret de Mar in Costa Brava which is popular for its beaches and lively nightlife. With an hour available to explore the area, you can explore the beaches and experience the spectacular views throughout the area. Within the village, there is a lively shopping district and the Saint Roma Church which houses a 16th century altarpiece.
The tour group will then take a boat to the village of Tossa de Mar. From the sea, you can admire the landscape of the region before arriving at "the pearl of Costa Brava". The area's natural environment is remarkably well preserved and Tossa de Mar has a history stretching back to the Roman times. The Vila Romana dels Ametllers demonstrates that the area was an important agricultural center in the ancient Roman province of Tarraconensis. The old town has a fortified wall dating back to the 14th century and is the only remaining town of its kind on the Catalonian coast.
There will also be a walking tour from the beach up to the lighthouse before travelling through the narrow streets until the tour arrives at the fishing district. You will have time for lunch and to explore further the history of this remarkable Catalonian town before the group journeys back to Barcelona mid-afternoon.
