Plaça de Catalunya, Barcelona, España
Offered byBARCELONA HOLIDAY
On this tour you will visit the Girona coast, christened 100 years ago as the Costa Brava. With its rugged coastline, crystal clear waters and white-washed fishing villages, the Costa Brava tour is well worth a full day tour.
You will leave Plaça Catalunya in Barcelona at 8:30am with a guide, taking the motorway to arrive in the small fishing village of Calella de Palafrugell at about 10:15am. You will have free time to explore the village, enjoy the scenery and take some photographs.
At about 11:15am, you will start walking along Camino de Ronda, previously a secluded route patrolled by anti-smuggling police and which leads to the neighboring town of Llafranc. You will hike about 30 minutes along easy terrain suitable for everyone.
At 12:00 you will travel to Pals, a town located inland and on the top of a hill from where you can enjoy wonderful views of the Costa Brava. The next stop is l’Estartit, another seaside village near the Medes Islands archipelago, home to flora and fauna with more than 1,200 species and declared as a National Natural Park and ZEPIM.
At L'Estartit you will have time to have lunch and take a small stroll around town before boarding the Nautilus at 15:00 - a boat with a glass bottom. You will enjoy a 1h 30 min boat tour visiting small coves and inlets while gawping at the seafloor.
The last stop at 17:00 is at the extensive Greek and Roman ruins of Empuries. Enjoy a guided tour of the whole site including a mosaic floor in excellent condition, the forum, remains of an amphitheater, several statues and vestiges of street frameworks.
At 18:00 the tour is finished and you will head back to Barcelona and arrive back at Plaza Catalunya at around 20:00.
