After a pleasant train ride hiking leads you through the Börzsony Hills. On the summit there is a breathtaking view over the Danube. Descending from the peak the tour takes you to a charming small village. Here we take a break in a local bistro and visit a modern painting collection.

We meet our guests at Nyugati Railway Station at 8:45 am. After a 40 minutes journey we arrive to Nagymaros, a village that is situated on the left side of the Danube.
The 8 km long hiking route that we complete in approximately 4 hours takes us through the fabulous Börzsöny Hills via Hegyestető. On the summit there is a wonderful view over the Danube, the Visegrád Hills and the medieval castle of Visegrád. During the forest walk your guide points out edible herbs and plants autochtone in the Danube-Ipoly National Park.
Descending from the peak the tour takes you to the village of Zebegény that has a colourful cultural heritage that is extraordinary for a place of this size. We stop for lunch in a local bistro where you can try seasonal Hungarian dishes. After lunh we show you around in Zebegény. Our walking includes a visit to Szőnyi István Memorial Museum, former villa of the expressionist painter. The museum houses young artists' workshops during summer months.
We catch the next train and travel back to Budapest with many heartwarming memories.
