Amalia Hotel Athens, Athens, Kentrikos Tomeas Athinon, Greece
Offered byGray Line Greece
After leaving Athens, you will travel to the Corinth Canal which has been 2,000 years in the making. Although attempts were made in ancient times to build such a feat, it was not until 1881 when the project got fully underway and was completed 12 years later.
You will then arrive at the ancient city of Corinth where you can see the remains of the huge "Agora" market place and Apollo's Temple. Corinth was also the location where the Apostle St. Paul wrote 1st and 2nd Thessalonians which eventually became books of the Biblical New Testament.
The group will also make a stop at the ancient part of Kechreai which once served as an eastern trade route. Archeological excavations were made 50 years ago which reveals a town that had flourished under the Roman Empire. Afterwards, you will travel back to Athens.
